Sam Sims – Passion for Music
Sam Sims grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. He is an extraordinary musician, songwriter and vocalist who recently moved back to New Jersey from Miami. His performances are breathtaking and exhibit a true eclectic style rare for such a young performer. Strapped with an acoustic guitar or ukulele, and a harmonica Sam combines unique and expressive vocals with engaging lighthearted charm. The result is a combination of Folk/Rock songs incorporating a Hawaiian/Island/Soul genre of music, eliciting compassion from his devoted fans at live shows from the Jersey Shore to Key West.
With extreme passion for music and the environment, Sims’ lyrics also speak about self-discovery and his strong connection to his surroundings. His music has an almost spiritual Influence with a true understanding for the earth’s colors and beauty. With delicate arrangements and beautiful orchestration, Sims showcases his honest, powerful and gripping melodies and captivating, evocative lyrics with a seemingly endless supply of youthful energy and optimism.
Sims also feels the need to give back and pay it forward, either by performing at charitable events, such as the “Change a Life Uganda” Music Festival or by teaching in less fortunate communities. Sam frequently visits schools in Nicaragua with donated, used, instruments which he distributes to the children. Recently he learned the song, Hotel California, so he could teach it to his friend, Carlos, when he brought him his first very own guitar. This is the magic that brings his music to life.
With an ever-growing catalogue of amazing, ready-for-radio songs with catchy choruses, he has been garnering a tremendous amount of buzz including licensing opportunities. To date, he has released four albums; Into The Blue, Moments, Neon Signs and Bluebird Avenue. Sims’ current band members include; Greg Smith, Kyle Ward, Matt Racher and Richie Blackwell, who have been part of his successful musical journey thus far.
Sam Sims continues to write, tour and record, continually setting the bar higher and higher. He recently created music videos for his songs, Revolution and Open Roads, as well as one for Iz’s Hawaiian version of Over the Rainbow. All three can be found on his YouTube channel. He has his own Pandora Radio station and one of his original songs was also recently chosen for a CBS television series which will air in December.
Sims has received great reviews by national press and continues to receive loyal following by his admiring fans.
